Another quick post, but this one with some photos, hopefully. All this technology is a challenge.

So, about the park, check out: www.ecotour.org/destinations/kakum.htm
or, just search for Kakum National Park.

Also, I've tried to post some photos. See if this works: http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/dxebird7/my_photos

more soon...

Dixie,
You rule. I am so envious of this adventure you are on. Can you have guests?

What lovely pictures! Thank you for sharing. I know you are going to have a fabulous time in 2006. Joe and I are going birding in Florida next week but we certainly won't find the birds you have. Happy New Year.

Hey Dix! I could have sworn that I replied to your last posting, but if I did, it seems to have vanished into the ethernet, or wherever things get lost in computer-land... I loved seeing photos of at least a part of your adventure. If I ever master the technology myself, I could send some your way, but they'd probably take you too long to download anyway. Hope that you had a peaceful holiday in your new world. We had a fine Christmas at home for once, and it was truly lovely. Melinda's folks came in and my folks were there and we all got along. Jen is still home and I am trying to rattle around in her head so that she does at least half of the things she should (and that means ALL of them if you are reading this Jen...). She sounds stronger, and is certainly happy to be out of the hospital. Keep sending your spirit her way. We all love and miss you Dix.

Hi Dixie,
As you gather from Jane's post, I'm finally home and adjusting well. And, for the record, taking rather good care of myself!

Great pics - good to see you smiling!

wishing you the best in this new year, with love,
jen

Hey Dizzy Happy New Year! When is the next book club - I forgot to write down the date and title. Berkley is having a brother in May, boy is he gonna be in for a shock. Speaking of Berkley, he's speaking some kind of gibberish that might be Ghana-ese, maybe we could record it for you to translate. Is it possible that I saw a bald eagle today up near Keystone at the Crossing? I've convinced myself that I did. Not much news here from the Cleaver household, no one told me that this parenting gig is a full time job- should have joined the peace corps instead, at least it would have only been a 2 year commitment. Just kidding - we LOVE it.

Kathy says Hey. Pet an elephant for Berkley. xoxo diana

You always make me smile, child. What an adventure, you are on. I look forward to reading this blog to the end to witness the transition from westerner to other wordly. you won't be able to get out of this with out passing through several planes.
Sorry about Grandma, but I am sure her spirit lives on, swaying across the canopy. Next best thing to flying I bet. Rest assured, Darlin', that dish rag dress is going to come in real handy at some point.
Best New Year to you my Dixie, as you wander & fly.

Hi Dixie!
I loved seeing the pictures. Betsy Strong was here (Economy Plumbing) today and we looked at them together. That bridge - whew - I would have frozen but you looked like the intrepid powerful Dixie! It was great to see you. I enjoyed seeing the dish towel dress. It will be part of the lore forever. I am so happy for you but please do not forget all of us.
Love,
Lynsey
