Cheery greetings from Ghana!!

I recognize that I've done poorly lately as a correspondent, please forgive me. The aftermath of loss from a distant quarter without friends or family is more ghastly a trial than I would wish on anyone. Having said that, I hope to resume my chatty posts from the land of hot-hot soon.

I finally got around to those parcels at the Peace Corps ofc. Several to thank: Cuz Di, Mike and Rita, OT, Sarah and TT, and Dino--Wow!! I feel blessed...

Thanks too for all the comments, I do read those and for those of you new to blogging, you can add a comment at the end of my posts by clicking "comments" and following the instructions. Which reminds me, Lynsey if you're reading, please know that I'm never gonna forget about anyone there, esp. you!!!

Also, birthday wishes to you fabulous Jan. gals: Miki (I really missed luncheon), Sharon L., Sarah S., Vicki P., Shari S., and little sister Amy.

I miss you all...xoxo...d

ps. Healing thoughts to Jen and Carter

Dizzy, I just wanted to tell you the Peregrines are starting their scrape. Appears to be Kinney and KathyQ again. We will have two new cameras operating soon and I will send you the URL.

Sweet Dizzy.... We love your posts, check the blog every day to see if you've written more. Amy and I miss you soooo much. In fact, Amy says she wants to fly to Ghana and see you sometime in the next year or so. When's the rainy season? When might you have a vacation that you'd want to have a few days with my girl to have some fun romping across the serengetti??
I would love to support her in seeing you this year or next -- hope you two will think about it and write on it -- love to you -- A & C

Hey Miss Dixie!
Good to hear from you. Of course I am reading..thank you for the message and also for thinking of Carter. Yesterday was his 51st Birthday and we are doing our best to enjoy what we can together.
I was hoping you received a few little goodies I sent you but it sounds as if you did not. I am so sorry for that! Not that the things were earth shattering, but I did want you to know that we were (and are) thinking of you.
I'm so glad that you sound so happy and I am sorry that I have not been there to support you as you needed to deal with the loss of Grandma Brackman.
I hope you will be able to post more pictures for our enjoyment and edification.
Love always,
Lynsey

Hi Dixie,
It's Suzi--long lost Suzi. It's only taken me how many months to figure out how to use this "blogspot" thing. Finally, my daughter got me all set up this morning. Thank goodness for Sara. By the way, she's now a college graduate!
Will write more later. How do I send you packages?

Hi, Dixie.
I am so sorry to hear about your grandmother. It's been awhile since I checked your blog, obviously.
I wanted you to know that Jean Ann died Wednesday, Jan. 18. I'll send more details by mail, but since it takes so long to get to you, I wanted you to know. She fought the good fight! She was telling us what to do until the end -- you know what a strong spirit she had. She taught us all a lot. The family is hanging together, as you might expect. No doubt, wherever or whatever Jean Ann is, she's already in charge of something!
Love, Shawna

Hey Dix!
Writing these little notes kind of reminds me of the house notes I'd leave on the days you'd clean for us. Except that now the house isn't magically cleaned when I return. Hmmm. I keep intending to sit down and send you one of those nifty aerograms, and one of these days I swear I will. We are all well, and abiding a relatively warmish winter. With luck, the little furry fellow won't see his shadow in two weeks, and we can all think of spring flowers. Until then, I am transforming our kitchen into a riot of summer colors; it works for me. (but not for Anne, she says as she looks over my shoulder as I write this.)

All for now. You ride around in my head and heart; know you are loved.

Hi Dix,
I finally figured out and took the time to get on here. Thanks for the b-day greetings. Voted today. I was wondering if you got the little fan and food stuff I sent back in January?
